This Lavender Rose Tea recipe is a delightful and aromatic beverage that combines the elegance of white tea with the soothing qualities of lavender with the romantic essence of rose petals. Enjoy it as a moment of relaxation and a tool you can use to check in with yourself, or as a special treat to share with friends and loved ones.

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons of high-quality white tea leaves (Silver Needle or Bai Mu Dan)

Instructions For Making Lavender Rose Tea:

  1. Boil Water: This lavender tea recipe uses gentle white tea as the main ingredient, which comes from delicate tea leaves. The key here is to reach a temperature of 175°F (80°C). Using this exact temperature is actually pretty important because it makes sure the tasty flavors of the white tea leaves stay nice and yummy, and don’t get “burnt” so to speak. For the best experience, I suggest using a tea maker such as the Breville One Touch Teamaker because it allows you to choose the precise temperature you want, and it completely changes the tea game! But – you can also use a food-safe thermometer suitable for liquids to check your water before brewing. If you don’t have either, here’s a lil’ tip: water boils at 200 degrees, so once you boil it, just make sure you wait a few minutes for it to cool before brewing.
  2. Choose Your Brewing Method: You have a few options when it comes to brewing: If you’re using the Breville One Touch Tea Maker, it has a built-in strainer so you’re all set. Other options include a teamaker from Adagio, a stainless steel tea basket, a mesh tea ball, or any kind of mesh strainer you might already have at home! If you choose the tea basket, you can hang it over a mug, and if you use a regular mesh strainer, you can hang it over a pot. It’s up to you and your personal preference! After the Breville, my favorite of those choices is the Adagio. But again, up to you!
  3. Prep Tea Leaves: While the water is heating, measure out 2 teaspoons of white tea leaves. Then place them into your teamaker or strainer.
  4. Add Lavender and Rose: Add 1 teaspoon of dried lavender buds and 1 teaspoon of dried rose petals to the white tea.
  5. Pour Water & Steep: Once your water reaches the right temperature, pour it over the tea leaves, lavender, and rose petals in the infuser or teapot and steep for about 3-5 minutes. The longer you brew, the stronger the tea strength and flavor intensity.
  6. Strain: Strain the tea by removing the strainer or pouring the water from the teamaker into your mug.
  7. Add Sweetner: If you wish! I like beet rock sugar.
  8. Enjoy: Pause for a while, enjoy your cup of tea, and make a moment for yourself before bed or during a time that calls for slowing down. I love turing to this tea when I’m looking for a cozy calm moment.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality white tea leaves for the best flavor. Silver Needle and Bai Mu Dan are great options to explore.
  • Be mindful of the water temperature, as white tea is delicate and can become bitter if brewed with water that’s too hot.
  • Adjust the quantities of lavender and rose petals based on your personal taste preference. You can increase or decrease the amount for a stronger or milder floral flavor.
  • Experiment with different types of sweeteners, such as honey, agave syrup, or stevia, to find the perfect level of sweetness for your palate.
